Surgical Counselor – Busy Ophthalmology/Optometry Practice

We are a well-established, patient-centered Ophthalmology and Optometry practice that has proudly served the valley for over 40 years. Committed to excellence in service and care, we are seeking a Surgical Counselor to join our dedicated team.

Position Summary:
As a Surgical Counselor, you will work closely with our surgeons and staff to guide patients through their surgical journey. This role requires a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented individual who can provide clear education and support to patients while managing administrative and insurance-related responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

· Collaborate closely with surgeons to ensure patient needs and expectations are met

· Educate patients on surgical options and help them understand recommendations based on their specific conditions

· Schedule surgeries and coordinate all necessary follow-up appointments and patient orders

· Manage insurance verifications, authorizations, and financial collections related to surgery

· Maintain a high level of professionalism and communication with patients throughout their care journey

· Travel between multiple office locations as needed

Requirements:

· Previous sales experience (required)

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Excellent organizational and time management abilities

· Experience in a medical or surgical setting is a plus

· Willingness and ability to travel between office locations
