Hodson P.I., LLC is a fast-growing investigations firm based in Southern California. Our firm was founded by Justin D. Hodson, CPI in 2003. Justin started his career in surveillance and knows the difficulty of the subject and how unique it truly can be.

The Surveillance Investigator would conduct mobile surveillance investigations as assigned by the supervisor which may include but are not limited to; surveillance, service of legal documents, physical visits to businesses and residential areas, general investigations, driving, sitting long periods in a vehicle, taking photos and video/covert video, securing evidence, being discreet and prepared for a variety of environments.

We are looking for to fill this position local to the Los Angeles, California area but travel throughout Southern California may be required at times.

Duties

  • The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: conducting various types of investigations, covert surveillance, service of process, witness statements, door knocks, scene canvasses, and other types of field-based investigations.
  • Investigators will be required to record all findings into a clear and concise report, obtain video evidence, obtain recorded statements, testify as needed at hearings and trials, and work independently.
  • Detailed report writing

  • Time management/self-management
  • Conduct surveillance with the expectation to obtain video documentation of the subject's activities
  • Obtain professional quality, steady video and clear photographic documentation
  • Write thorough and detailed sequential reports
  • Upload video, photographic, and audio evidence
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Meet strict deadlines to present your final report
  • Detail-orientated
  • Mailing legal documents to clients, and records requests

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education level: Associates degree or higher (preferred)
  • Minimum two years in Insurance Surveillance Investigations
  • Private Investigator License (preferred)
  • Basic report writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Knowledge of Adobe
  • Team Player

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour
