Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Survey CAD Designer / Survey CAD Technician to support land surveying and civil engineering projects. This role focuses on producing high-quality survey drawings, plats, exhibits, and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of land surveying principles, field-to-office workflows, and CAD drafting standards for boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare survey CAD drawings including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction surveys
  • Process and draft survey data from field crews, GPS, and total stations
  • Develop plats, exhibits, easements, and right-of-way drawings
  • Apply survey control, bearings, distances, and coordinate geometry accurately
  • Maintain CAD standards, layers, and templates
  • Coordinate with surveyors, project managers, and engineers
  • Revise drawings based on redlines and quality control reviews

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Survey CAD Designer or Survey CAD Technician
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying practices and terminology
  • Experience drafting boundary and topographic surveys
  • Ability to read and interpret survey field notes and legal descriptions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
  • Familiarity with TxDOT, municipal, or DOT standards
  • Knowledge of coordinate systems, datums, and geodetic control
  • Associate degree or certificate in CAD, Surveying, or related field

Pay: $25.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 70.0 per week
