Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of sushi dishes with accuracy, artistry, and consistency, ensuring each piece meets our high standards for quality and presentation
  • Handle food safely by following strict hygiene protocols and proper food handling procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Assist in menu planning by suggesting innovative sushi options that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences
  • Manage food preparation tasks efficiently during busy service hours, including slicing fish, assembling rolls, and garnishing plates
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely delivery of orders to guests
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment in compliance with health regulations and safety standards
  • Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of sushi with precision and attention to detail

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a culinary setting, particularly in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine, with fine dining experience preferred
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling techniques specific to seafood and raw ingredients
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene in a professional kitchen
  • Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food service operations within the food industry or restaurant environment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management
  • Prior dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus but not required

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
