Suspension Specialist for Commercial Trucks

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Suspension Specialist dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of suspension systems for commercial trucks. Duties

• Diagnose suspension system issues on commercial trucks using schematics, diagnostic tools, and mechanical knowledge
• Repair or replace shocks, struts, air suspension components, and related hardware to restore vehicle stability and ride quality
• Perform alignment procedures to ensure proper wheel angles and vehicle handling
• Conduct comprehensive inspections of suspension components, including bushings, springs, control arms, and hydraulics
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques for assembly and repairs
• Maintain detailed service records, including diagnostics performed, parts replaced, and work completed
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving forklift operation or other heavy equipment as needed

Skills

• Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic background specializing in heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment
• Strong understanding of schematics related to suspensions, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
• Proficiency in automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting using advanced tools and software
• Skilled in fabrication, welding, soldering, and working with power tools for custom repairs or modifications
• Experience with excavator, crane operation, or other heavy machinery is a plus
• Knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands is advantageous
• Ability to perform tire service, wheel alignment, HVAC repairs for trucks, and diesel engine maintenance
• Mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive repair standards
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repair needs and maintenance schedules
• Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environments requiring safety precautions
