Job Title for the new hire: Sustainability Program Coordinator
Job Description:
The Sustainability Program Coordinator Consultant will support the execution of Amazon EU Operations Water Program across its three core pillars: smart metering deployment, operational water efficiency, and water circularity. The role is a hands-on coordination function, serving as the operational link between site teams, external vendors, internal stakeholders, and the central program team to keep installations on track, data flowing, and reporting accurate.

Scope of Services & Responsibilities Installation Coordination
- Coordinate smart meter and water efficiency measure installations (low-flow fixtures, waterless urinals, auto-flush sensor recalibrations) across EU target sites, managing scheduling between vendors and site operations/RME teams.
- Track installation progress against program targets, maintaining an up-to-date tracker with milestone status across all active workstreams.
- Support site readiness checks prior to installation by confirming access, connectivity requirements, and landlord permissions where applicable.
- Ensure all vendors have been onboarded to all required internal platforms and completed internal procedures before execution date
- Flag and escalate scheduling delays, technical blockers, or re-work needs to the program lead.
Vendor & Procurement Coordination
- Track vendor onboarding status across compliance, procurement, and sustainability platforms - chase completions and flag gaps.
- Support the program lead with purchase order setup, ensuring correct documentation flows between procurement, vendors, and approvers.
- Maintain a vendor status tracker covering onboarding milestones, contract status, and readiness for deployment.
Data Onboarding & Management
- Coordinate onboarding of newly installed meters into FlowMS leak detection software and the EU Ops Water Dashboard, following up with vendors and internal teams to resolve integration issues.
- Quality-check water consumption data from meters, invoices, and site teams on a regular cadence, and escalate accordingly.
- Support leak alert follow-up by ensuring site maintenance teams are notified, repairs are tracked, and resolution timelines are logged.
- Apply AI tools and automation where appropriate to streamline data collection, processing, and reporting workflows.
- Savings Reporting & Program Visibility
- Assist with regular water savings reporting, tracking actuals vs. Business-as-Usual (BAU) reduction targets across high-risk regions.
- Prepare materials for program reviews, flash reports, and QBR sessions as directed.
- Maintain program documentation including keeping trackers, status logs, and shared resources updated and accessible.
Soft Skills & Core Competencies
- Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams across different countries and site types.
- Data-driven mindset with a high level of comfort in data management, validation and analysis.
- Practical experience using AI tools to automate and improve workflows.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail — comfortable maintaining trackers, chasing open actions, and keeping documentation current.
- Clear, structured communicator - able to interface with site operations teams, vendors, and central stakeholders in writing and in meetings.
- Proactive follow-up discipline; able to hold progress accountable across parties without direct authority.
- Self-starter who can operate with limited oversight and flag issues early.
- Cross-cultural awareness and ability to coordinate across multiple European countries and time zones.
- Basic understanding of procurement processes (purchase orders, vendor compliance, contract workflows).
- Interest in or familiarity with water management, sustainability, or environmental compliance (not essential but advantageous).

- Installation milestones tracked and on schedule with no unresolved blockers older than one week.
- All new meters onboarded to monitoring platforms within agreed SLA post-installation.
- Vendor compliance tracker maintained at 100% accuracy with no vendors deployed without full onboarding.
- Weekly reporting delivered on time with accurate data across all active workstreams.
Required qualifications/certifications: Engineering Degree - Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil preferred
Software / programs / tools: Microsoft Office and basic AI fluency
