About the Role
The Sustainable Sourcing Strategist leads sourcing of diverse IT components, including devices, accessories, and consumables, with a focus on sustainability, compliance, and mission alignment. This role builds and manages partnerships with donors, vendors, and recyclers to ensure a reliable, ethical supply chain that supports our digital inclusion programs.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainable Sourcing & Partnership Development

Identify and engage vendor partners to acquire IT components, including, hotspots, batteries, chargers, etc.

Negotiate donation and purchase agreements that prioritize reuse, environmental impact, and data security
Vendor & Supply Chain Management

Vet and manage relationships with certified recyclers, e-waste handlers, and component suppliers

Ensure all sourcing aligns with R2, e-Stewards, and other sustainability standards

Vet and manage vendors for operational consumables
Contract & Compliance Oversight

Draft and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with data privacy, hazardous material handling (e.g., lithium-ion batteries), and vendor expectations

Collaborate with finance and operations teams to maintain audit-ready documentation
Inventory & Logistics Coordination

Forecast inventory needs across device categories and coordinate procurement with warehouse and refurbishment teams

Track inbound shipments and reconcile asset records with procurement agreements

Manage kanban for all operational consumables and process requests for new orders
Spend Review & Purchase Approvals

Review organization purchases to identify policy adherence and identify areas of opportunity for consolidation/savings opportunities

Approve and release Amazon Business and other purchasing platforms within established approval matrix
Impact Reporting & Collaboration

Maintain procurement data for internal dashboards, grant reporting, and partner stewardship

Partner with marketing and communications teams to highlight sourcing impact and sustainability metrics

Perform additional duties as requested
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or IT asset management (nonprofit or ITAD experience preferred)

Knowledge of IT hardware categories, including mobile devices, batteries, and networking equipment

Familiarity with supply chain sustainability and hazardous material handling protocols

Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills

Proficiency in procurement software and inventory systems

Experience with CRM or partner management platforms

Background in nonprofit development or corporate social responsibility preferred

Bilingual or multilingual communication skills highly preferred

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
