About us

Triple Olympic Gold Medallist Tom Dean is launching the first UAE- based International Swim School in Abu Dhabi.

Inspired by his own experience learning to swim and progressing into an elite performance program and then Olympic success, Tom has created a Swim School program that has already proved successful in the UK, with over 4500 children already enjoying this unique approach to learn to swim and performance swimming.

This is an ideal role for an individual who is motivated by managing a team of staff, is sports development focused and has a keen interest in learning to swim programmes and swimming in general with Tom Dean Swim school.

As a Swimming Coordinator, you'll have the opportunity to lead and inspire a team of swim teachers to deliver top-quality lessons to students of all ages and abilities. You'll be responsible for managing the site effectively, ensuring high levels of customer service, and maintaining a strong focus on customer retention and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Management
  • Assist and monitor the swimming lesson programme (Learn to Swim, adult lessons, schools, and specialist sessions).with head of swimming.
  • Schedule classes to optimise pool usage and customer demand.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and international swimming standards (e.g., Swim England/ASA, FINA).

Staff Coordination

  • Assist head of swimming with supervision and coaching, swimming instructors to ensure consistent programme delivery.
  • Assist staff training, CPD, and performance reviews.
  • Assist with recruitment and induction of swim instructors.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all pool operations meet health, safety, and safeguarding standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of qualifications, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Work closely with lifeguards and the Health & Safety team to uphold the highest standards.

Customer Service & Engagement

  • Act as the first point of contact for swim programme enquiries.
  • Provide feedback to parents, schools, and participants regarding progress.
  • Promote swimming programmes to increase participation and retention.

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain records of attendance, achievements, and financial performance of swimming activities.
  • Prepare reports for the Head of swimming on programme performance.
  • Manage bookings, waiting lists, and communication with participants.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised swimming teaching/coaching qualification (e.g., ASA/Swim England Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Pool Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ or UAE equivalent) – desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching or coordinating swimming programmes.
  • Strong organisational and people-management skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection best practice.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment (Middle East experience desirable).
