Pinch-a-Penny, a local and family-owned franchise pool and spa store, is hiring hardworking and dependable workers for the position of Swimming Pool Mechanic. This position is perfect for those who are mechanically inclined with experience in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs and maintenance. A clean driving record is required,as you will be working out in the field, driving directly to our customers’ homes to clean, service, and maintain their pools. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION:

*This position requires a mechanically-inclined individual (plumbing, electrical, mechanical), with a clean driving record who is willing to work in sometimes adverse weather conditions. If you have what it takes, we provide great training and will help you build your skill set.

Top performers are able to complete these essential duties;

1. Customer service skills!

• As the Lead Pool Maintenance Specialist, you are the customer’s saving grace. The ability to actively listen, identify and resolve customer concerns, and explain issues and solutions is a must.

2. Mechanical maintenance and pool repairs * Troubleshooting, repair and replacement of swimming pool equipment; i.e. motors, filters, pumps, lights, heaters, transformers, automation, valves, salt chlorine generator, etc...

• Pool cleaning and maintenance
• Daily care and cleaning of company vehicle
• Completion of paperwork relevant to repairs

3. Strong work ethic * Although the workload varies with season, top performers can complete 5 to 10 work orders per day while maintaining quality standards.

• This position requires the associate to have a high degree of stamina for physical labor, with the ability to work in high degrees of heat and adverse weather conditions as well as the ability to lift a max of 50 pounds repetitively.
• The ability to work around chlorine without an allergic reaction.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Potential candidates must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be a licensed driver in the State of Florida, with a clean driving record.
• Must comply strictly to all road signs, driving rules and regulations, and be noted for safe and courteous driving habits while operating company vehicles.
• Some weekends and evening hours may be involved with this position.
