Swimming Pool Technician

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Swimming Pool Technician to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, operation, maintenance, repair, and cleaning of swimming pools, spas, fountains, and water features. The role requires ensuring that all pool systems operate efficiently, water quality meets regulatory standards, and facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and operational condition for guests, residents, or facility users.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, operate, and maintain swimming pools, spas, fountains, and water features.
  • Monitor, test, and adjust water chemistry, including pH, chlorine, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and total dissolved solids, to maintain safe water quality.
  • Operate and maintain pool circulation, filtration, heating, disinfection, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, filters, heaters, chlorinators, UV systems, ozone systems, valves, piping, and control panels.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, plumbing, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults affecting pool equipment.
  • Clean pools by vacuuming, brushing walls and tiles, skimming debris, cleaning strainer baskets, and backwashing filters.
  • Inspect pool equipment regularly to identify leaks, wear, corrosion, or malfunctioning components.
  • Replace defective equipment and components as required to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Maintain pool decks, overflow channels, balance tanks, and surrounding areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Safely handle, store, and apply pool treatment chemicals in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of water quality tests, maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and chemical usage.
  • Monitor inventory levels of pool chemicals, spare parts, and maintenance supplies, and report replenishment needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local health, environmental, and occupational safety regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and suppliers on maintenance activities and equipment servicing.
  • Recommend improvements, equipment upgrades, and preventive maintenance strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or pool maintenance is preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in swimming pool maintenance or a related technical field.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalent certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of pool filtration, circulation, chemical treatment, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, equipment drawings, and maintenance procedures.
  • Familiarity with water testing equipment and pool maintenance tools.
  • Basic computer skills for preparing reports and maintaining maintenance records.
  • Valid UAE driver's license.
