Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on packaging and production equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests on the production floor
- Maintain logs and records of work completed, parts used, and status updates
- Assist in installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery or equipment
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and in compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with machine operators and production leads to identify maintenance needs and improvement opportunities
- Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and organized maintenance areas
- Actively participate in safety programs and serve as a safety and food safety advocate
- Support plant utilities (e.g., compressed air systems, HVAC, water supply) as needed
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance; preferably in a food manufacturing or general manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems)
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Familiarity with GMPs, food safety, and OSHA workplace safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to work alternating 3-day/4-day weeks, 12-hour shifts, with additional overtime as needed
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work (standing, bending, climbing, and lifting) for extended periods
- Basic computer skills for entering maintenance data and reporting
- Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified within 14 days of employment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; Spanish language skills a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-year degree in Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or related field
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Experience working with food processing or packaging equipment
- Welding, fabrication, or electrical certification a plus
