Summary: The Switchgear Builder will lead the manufacturing team in the fabrication and assembly of production projects related to switchgear, power distribution, or panelboard projects. These projects contain components in the areas of sheet metal enclosures, Copper Busway, electrical metering transformers, disconnects, molded case breakers, high amperage electrical service entrance among others. The builder will interface with engineers and the production team. There will be exposure to all aspects of the development cycle, from quoting to shipping and post-market maintenance.
The Candidate will be expected to work full-time (Monday-Friday, approx. 40 hrs./week)
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position will begin as soon as November 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Be the lead in fabrication and assembly of switchgear projects
- Follow blueprints and work instructions in order to build to the approved spec from engineering
- Study and learn the electrical enclosure and switchgear business, Nav-Tech products, and manufacturing techniques
- Establish and maintain processes for managing the electrical switchgear package for construction projects
- Be able to understand the function of the packages being produced including developing the ability to make design changes in order to expedite projects
- Orchestrate complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource utilization
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to align project goals with business objectives
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards i.e. NEC
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the project team
- Complete other tasks as assigned by management
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- Proven track record in assembly of electrical or mechanical production realm
- Knowledge of power distribution equipment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while interfacing with engineering and production teams
- Must be able to effectively and clearly communicate concepts, ideas and knowledge to other individuals and teams.
- Must be able to demonstrate problem solving skills.
- Strong mechanical hands on and creative ability.
- Basic understanding of NEC and UL 891
