Position: Switchgear Engineer
Location: Doha
Contract Duration: 6 months (Extendable)

Job Summary:
Our client, a global engineering technology company in Qatar is seeking a qualified Switchgear Engineer to join their team in Doha. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the design, installation, and maintenance of switchgear systems, ensuring their efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop switchgear systems in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of switchgear equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and switchgear.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely completion of electrical projects.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including reports and technical specifications.
• Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and safety regulations related to switchgear systems.

Technical Skills Required:

• Switchgear Design and Development: Proficiency in designing and developing switchgear systems that comply with industry standards.
• Installation and Commissioning: Hands-on experience in the installation, testing, and commissioning of switchgear equipment.
• System Maintenance: Ability to conduct routine inspections, perform maintenance, and carry out repairs on switchgear systems.
• Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Expertise in diagnosing and resolving technical issues to ensure optimal system reliability.
• Electrical Circuit Analysis: Strong understanding of electrical circuits, power distribution, and control systems.
• Knowledge of Protection Systems: Familiarity with protection relays, circuit breakers, and other switchgear protection mechanisms.
• Technical Documentation: Capability to prepare detailed technical reports and maintain comprehensive documentation.
• Compliance and Safety Standards: Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards.
• Software Proficiency: Experience with software tools used for switchgear design and analysis, such as AutoCAD and ETAP.
• Testing Procedures: Experience in performing high-voltage testing, insulation resistance testing, and other electrical tests.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Power Systems or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Switchgear Engineer.
• Proficient in the technical skills necessary for switchgear design and maintenance.
