SY26-27 Special Education Teacher/Case Manager

Richard Wright Public Charter School for Journalism and Media Arts is a unique high school offering students, beginning with the 8th grade, an opportunity to explore high school while focusing on their areas of interest within journalism and media arts. Richard Wright PCS is currently seeking dedicated and motivated professionals for the 2026-2027 school year in the following positions:

--Special Education Teacher/Case Manager

In order to be considered for the positions listed above, an applicant must meet the following qualifications:

--A bachelors degree in secondary education and/or the subject the applicant is interested in teaching (REQUIRED), OR

-If no degree, have taken the Praxis Exam in the subject matter you are teaching (REQUIRED)

--The ability to prove that he or she is a Highly Qualified Teacher, which, for DC charter schools, means either a valid DC Teaching License, proof of having taken the Praxis in the subject he or she will be teaching, or at least a bachelors degree with the major of the subject he or she wishes to teach (REQUIRED)

--Two years or more working with students of this age group (REQUIRED)

--Experience working with diverse populations in an urban setting (REQUIRED)

--Proven ability to work as a member of a team (REQUIRED)

--Strong leadership capabilities (REQUIRED)

--Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development (REQUIRED)
