The System Administrator will play a critical role in supporting the IT infrastructure across the organization, ensuring seamless operations for both the head office and retail stores. This role involves the maintenance of IT systems, addressing technical issues, and assisting with installations and upgrades. The ideal candidate is proactive, a quick learner, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.



RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Provide first-level technical support to retail stores, head office staff, and warehouse teams.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly.
  • Respond to support tickets, calls, and emails to ensure minimal downtime.


Systems Administration:

  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the company’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and security systems.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and preventative maintenance.
  • Manage and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.


Hardware & Software Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, POS systems, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Ensure all software is updated, licensed, and compliant with company policies.
  • Assist in the rollout of new IT solutions, hardware, or upgrades in stores or head office.


Retail Store IT Support:

  • Ensure proper functionality of POS systems, scanners, and store-specific IT setups.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for IT-related services or repairs when required.
  • Visit retail locations as necessary to resolve technical issues on-site.


IT Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets, configurations, and processes.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to the IT Manager.
  • Assist in developing and updating IT policies and user guides.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Expected Years of Experience

  • 3-4 years of experience in an IT support or administrative role, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Experience in managing IT assets and supporting remote locations is an advantage.


Expected Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, ITIL Foundation) are a plus.


Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and basic networking concepts (LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with POS systems and retail IT infrastructure is highly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
