We are seeking a System Engineer as a technical expert in the area of system administration and support for simple and complex IT environments and will actively manage and support customer environments and infrastructure, including servers (physical and virtual), switches, firewalls, security tools, system tools, applications, backups and other processes as well as desktops.
The candidate needs to be able to plan, support, design, implement, troubleshoot customer's environments to enable Pricon to deliver highest level of service.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, update, and monitor Servers (physical and virtual), Rack and Blade systems, Network Equipment, Firewalls, Switches, Backup Hardware and Software, operating system updates and patches in various environments
- Provide technical assistance with desktop hardware and software including Microsoft Office and Office 365 and be able to perform email migrations
- Resolve issues for clients via phone, on site, or remotely
- Provide onsite break/fix service when necessary
- Recommend hardware and software improvements
- Track customer issues and resolutions
- Keep customers informed of progress, changes and solutions in a timely and effective manner that exceeds expectations and is in alignment with their culture and communication preferences.
- Maintain meticulous client specific documentation
- Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and performance
Qualifications:
- Experience with deploying managing and maintaining Windows Server, Software Windows Domains and Active Directory as well as Entra ID Connect for Azure connectivity
- Ability to install, maintain and monitor Virtualized platforms (VMWare and Hyper-V)
- Experience with VMWare ESX and Vcenter in redundant environments
- Well-rounded knowledge and experience with storage solutions (HPE , Nimble, MSA, NetApp, EMC, QNAP)
- Ability to design implement and maintain various disaster recovery solutions
- Ability and experience to configure install diagnose and troubleshoot and break/fix hardware and software
- Proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting firewalls, switches, wireless access points, controllers and routers from various manufacturers.
- Ability to setup and monitor Firewalls,Routers, Switches and Wifi
- Ability to install and maintain security solutions such as Endpoint Security, Syslog databases and SIEM solutions
- Experience with Windows 10, 11, Microsoft Office and Office 365 and migrations
- HPE servers and blade servers and chassis break/fix certification and experience highly desirable
- Industry certifications preferred but not required (CCNA, MCSE, Server+, VMWare, Veeam, HPE)
- Desktop troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution
Applicants must also have the following skills:
- At least six years experience relevant IT Experience
- At least three years working for an MSP, VAR or Integrator
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Ability to identify problems and suggest solutions
- Ability to clearly communicate and with co-workers, customers and collaborate with vendors
- Ability to start and finish a support ticket or a project self-sufficiently
- Ability to prioritize problems and resolve them
- Ability to take and give instruction
- Willingness to be trained in hardware and software technologies.
