Purpose of the Role

The System Support Engineer Role is part of Customer Support Team to provide technical support for a Transportation Software Product that is in use by Large Government Organization at UAE.

To provide day-to-day Technical Support to customers by maintaining their systems, investigating, and tracking all issues, along with testing and deployment of software changes and new releases.


Key Duties and Responsibilities


Transportation Systems & Application Support

  • Install, upgrade, and maintain transportation systems and IT applications.
  • Monitor Taxi Systems, E-Hailer, AVM, ITS, and AFC to ensure SLA compliance and system uptime.
  • Provide on-site technical support, including troubleshooting and Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) installations.
  • Respond to customer issues within agreed SLAs and ensure timely resolution.
  • Document all activities and follow established Trapeze processes and standards.
  • Conduct customer site visits to diagnose and resolve operational issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system improvements and operational enhancements.


Database, BI & Reporting

  • Manage SQL Server installation, maintenance, backups, performance optimization, and recovery.
  • Ensure database reliability, security, and availability across environments.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and schema objects.
  • Build SSRS reports and maintain dashboards for operational and management use.
  • Manage ETL processes for accurate data integration and transformation.
  • Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.


Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field will be highly regarded.
  • Minimum 4-5 Years solid experience in Technical hands-on support roles.
  • Working Experience in Transportation Application services mainly in ITS, Taxi management solutions.
  • Working Experience with Application support service mainly on Hardware related Embedded systems.
  • Expertise in Windows and Linux Environment – Administration & Management
  • Expertise in creating maintenance or deployment scripts in both Windows and Linux will be highly desirable.
  • Experience following ITIL processes for Incident management and Change & Release management.
  • Expertise in MS SQL, Qlik, Power BI, and Tableau to manage database administration and deliver insightful dashboards and reports.
