System Technician

Job Overview

The System Technician will provide proactive management and maintenance for our customer's managed network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have top-notch technical skills and experience, a professional manner, and excellent communication skills. Prior IT support experience, including the use of remote monitoring and management software is preferred.

Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or equivalent related computer experience may substitute for degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting and administering a networked computer environment.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven success working independently with little to no supervision
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, plan, and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support, administration, troubleshooting and repair of the customer's computers.
  • Perform daily monitoring of the network environment.
  • Installs, test and maintains necessary desktop hardware and software, including peripherals, desktops, and wiring.
  • Performs desktop troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common desktop problems.
  • Perform high-level technical analysis to identify and resolve PC / Network related problems and performance issues.
  • Interface with users, external vendors, and customers as necessary.
  • Work with and assist engineers as needed
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of desktop configurations and inventory.
  • Plan and undertake scheduled maintenance upgrades.
  • Evaluate technologies and make recommendations for improvement.
