Job Description: Thompson Gray is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support efforts in delivering advanced training solutions for the Army Product Manager for NextGen Constructive. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Army software engineering processes along with systems integration experience and will be skilled in communication, analytical thinking, and technical problem-solving applied within complex engineering environments.
This position is contingent based on government funding.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the technical lead on assigned warfighting function capabilities in support of the Product Manager NextGen Constructive

Work as a team member with other project leaders supporting other Army Warfighter functional areas for the NGC program.

Monitor vendor weekly progress ensuring capabilities are on track IAW contracts to meet overall program objectives IAW approved Capability Documentation, Statement of Work, and Contractual documents.

Document, report, and brief project status at weekly staff meetings.

Develop plans to ensure proper integration of technology/capability IAW approved program architecture and engineering guidance.

Provide technical expertise throughout the acquisition lifecycle support by tracking functional requirements to system specifications.

Provide project leadership and technical support to the planning and execution of testing capabilities and expected performance to meet system operational requirements.

Prepare, maintain, review and revise program documentation necessary to ensure project deliverables meet program goals.

Assess contractor's performance in design, development, verification, manufacturing, deployment, operations, and support.

Coordinate with internal staff and external stakeholders on all aspects of Army Warfighter functional elements

Analyze military operational requirements in the form of Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD), Capability Development Documents (CDD), Capability Production Documents (CPD).

Review system baselines established by development contractors in the form of system and subsystem specification, software systems an interface specification, and ensure accuracy, completeness, testability and traceability to Program Goals.

Provide technical evaluations of contractor performance to the Assistance Product Managers and Agreement Officer Representative and provide SME representation of the project office at progress reviews, design reviews, technical interchange meetings and other SE oriented meetings and reviews with development contractors.

Assist with test and evaluation efforts across mission-critical systems, ensuring systems meet required performance standards.

Monitor, diagnose, and resolve hardware/electrical engineering issues.
Required Qualifications:
-
Experience: 10+ years of relevant test and evaluation experience, or 5+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.

Working understanding of hardware and software development, integration, test, and assessment life cycles.

Security Clearance: Active SECRET clearance (mandatory).

Must be willing to attain TS/SCI clearance eligibility

Problem-Solving Skills: Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-stakes, mission-critical systems.

Ability to work in a classified environment.
-
Strong analytical and technical writing skills for producing evaluation reports.
-
Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team, including with military personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:

DAWIA Level 3 – Engineering
-
Familiarization with Sprint Cycles

Experience in both classified and unclassified network testing environments.

Experience with defense-related Test & Evaluation policies and standards.

Knowledge of automated testing tools and methods for network systems.
-
Agile Certification (Scrum Master, Agile Practitioner, etc.).
