Systems Engineer

Urgent Start: Mid- to senior-level technical expert with 5+ years of hands-on experience.

We are seeking an experienced Windows, Linux and 3CX Systems Engineer (5+ years ) to lead the migration of our existing on-premises environment to a new cloud-based infrastructure. This is a contract role focused on delivering a complete, stable, secure, and well-documented transition.

The successful candidate must have strong Windows, Linux and 3CX VoIP experience. You are expected to take a hands-on role in the technical implementation of the new architecture from start to finish, resolve issues with legacy applications and manage with 3rd party vendors where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and document the current on-premises infrastructure
• Design a secure and scalable Linux and Windows architecture
• Migrate Active Directory, file services, print services, and associated applications
• Plan and execute the transition with minimal disruption to users
• Implement security, backup, and disaster recovery configurations
• Migrate the existing Avaya VoIP system to a new 3CX cloud-based solution
• Manage testing, validation, and user acceptance
• Provide full documentation and handover upon project completion

Required Experience

• Proven experience delivering end-to-end infrastructure migrations
• Strong background in Microsoft server environments, Active Directory, File and Print services design and migration
• Solid experience in administering a Linux environment, Hypervisor, Proxmox VE, VMs, Resilience, Backup
• Hands-on experience in deploying and configuring 3CX, complete setup, including phone system
• Experience in troubleshooting and configuring (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs)
• Ability to work independently and manage project timelines
