Overview:
The Talent Connection Specialist supports the Business Services Team’s mission to connect employers with qualified talent through strategic placement assistance. Working closely with Career Advisors, Business Consultants, and WorkOne leadership, this role connects job-ready clients with employment and work-and-learn opportunities across Northwest Indiana. Serving a seven-county region, the Specialist builds employer partnerships, supports recruitment efforts, and strengthens the regional talent pipeline through data-driven workforce strategies and exceptional customer service.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Build and maintain strong employer relationships to support recruitment, placement, and work-and-learn opportunities, including internships and apprenticeships.
- Collaborate with Career Advisors, Business Consultants, and Business Service Representatives to align job opportunities with client skills and employer needs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on in-demand occupations, skills, wages, and labor market trends to inform placement strategies.
- Match qualified candidates to employment opportunities using labor market data, Indiana Career Connect, and other WorkOne tools.
- Support hiring events, job information sessions, and employer recruitment activities as directed.
- Track, analyze, and report on placement, wage, and retention outcomes; recommend strategies to improve employment results.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in SharePoint, CRM systems, and required reporting platforms.
- Communicate consistently with internal WorkOne staff and employers, including post-placement follow-up to monitor retention and satisfaction.
- Deliver premier customer service, maintain confidentiality, and continuously improve placement processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Indiana Career Connect, INGage, and related workforce systems.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to analyze and present data.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience may substitute).
- Two years of professional experience in workforce development or a related field preferred.
Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
