PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Talent & HR Support Specialist will play a key role in supporting various human resources functions, including recruitment and staffing, employee relations, training and development, and HR analytics. This position will help the organization achieve its staffing and employee management goals by ensuring effective recruitment, a positive workplace environment, and compliance with employment regulations.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment for Corporate Restaurants and Support Center

  • Source, screen, and interview candidates for open positions to ensure the right fit for the organization.
  • Coordinate travel for candidates.
  • Attend career fairs and networking events to proactively engage with potential candidates and build a pipeline of talent.
  • Manage job postings on various platforms and execute recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and assist with defining job roles and requirements.
  • Conduct background checks, verify references, and manage the pre-employment process.

Employee Relations

  • Manage and help create the company's monthly newsletter, including content development, design, and distribution, to keep employees informed about company updates, safety initiatives, training programs, and other key announcements.
  • Assist in coordinating employee recognition celebrations and events to foster a positive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Serve as a bridge between employees and management, facilitating open communication and promoting a positive work environment.

Training and Development

  • Assist with the development and delivery of employee training programs tailored to business needs, including onboarding and ongoing development.
  • Identify employee development needs and work with managers to create individualized training plans.
  • Manage the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless transition into their roles.

HR Analytics

  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, such as turnover rates, recruitment metrics, and employee performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve workforce planning, recruitment strategies, and overall HR functions.
  • Prepare and present data-driven reports to HR leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as the HRIS system SME, providing guidance and support on system functionality, troubleshooting, and optimization for HR operations.
  • Design and deliver user training to ensure optimal system utilization across the organization.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements within HRIS.

Slim Chickens systems principles and objectives: Has a thorough understanding of Slim Chickens' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies, safety) and recognizes the responsibility to stay updated on these systems and the role this position plays in supporting them.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is designed to guide the activities of the Talent & HR Support Specialist. It is not meant to restrict the individual's creativity or limit their thinking, nor does it encompass all the tasks that may be required in this role.

Physical Activities: Primarily performed in an office environment. Involves entering and retrieving information on a computer and visually verifying details, often in small print. May also require presenting information to small or large groups.

Travel: Occasionally visits local corporate stores.

Requirements and Competencies:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with HR software and databases is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Technical Experience: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Canva.
Minimum Education: Associate degree with experience in office administration or HR assistance.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
