About the Role
As a
Tax Accountant
, you will play a critical role in managing Mousβ global tax responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions. This role sits within the Finance function and reports directly to the Financial Controller, partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Your primary focus will be the preparation and submission of global indirect tax filings, including UK VAT, US sales tax, and EU IOSS returns. You will also support corporation tax processes, lead the preparation of UK R&D tax credit claims, and contribute to broader financial reporting activities.
Operating in a fast-scaling, international environment, you will translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, executable processes. Your work will directly impact compliance risk, cash flow, reporting accuracy, and the businessβ ability to scale into new markets confidently.
With strong cross-functional exposure, particularly across Finance, Product, and Commercial teams, this role offers an excellent platform to deepen international tax expertise while influencing strategic financial outcomes.
Please note that this role will be situated at our office in Lahore (Upper Mall), working on-site from Monday-Thursday, with Friday being an optional WFH day. The normal working hours will be 10am - 7pm PKT.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit UK VAT returns accurately and on time
-
Manage US sales tax registrations and filings in partnership with third-party tax providers
-
Prepare and submit IOSS returns for EU sales
-
Manage EU VAT registrations and filings across multiple jurisdictions
-
Oversee in-house tax filings across international markets, including Norway, New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore
-
Monitor international sales against registration thresholds and manage new registrations where required
-
Develop and maintain robust processes to ensure input VAT recovery and compliance
-
Liaise directly with tax authorities on audits, queries, and ad hoc matters
Corporation Tax

Partner with external advisors to prepare UK and US corporation tax returns
-
Support submission processes and documentation requirements
-
Manage US Franchise tax filing
R&D Tax Claims

Lead preparation of the UK R&D tax credit claim
-
Partner closely with the Product team to identify qualifying initiatives
-
Prepare financial analysis and supporting documentation for R&D expenditure
Import Duties and Analysis

Analyse the financial impact of international import duties

Support financial planning linked to international expansion and supply chain changes

Skills requirements:
Weβre looking for someone who is:

3 or more years of experience in a Tax Accountant, Management Accountant, or similar role
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, or equivalent
-
Strong knowledge of sales tax and corporation tax
-
Practical experience preparing and submitting global sales tax or VAT returns
-
Advanced Excel skills and strong numerical capability
-
Experience within D2C, Consumer Goods, or eCommerce environment is advantageousHighly detail-oriented and accurate

Technically strong across indirect and corporate tax
-
Highly organised and capable of managing multiple deadlines
-
Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset

A proactive problem solver who takes ownership

A confident collaborator and communicator

Experience using ERP or accountancy systems
