Tax Accountant / Tax Accounting Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a positive and detail-oriented Tax Accountant or Tax Accounting Clerk to join our team.

Tax accountants are specialists who focus on tax compliance, deductions, and strategies for tax return preparation. The Tax Accounting Clerk handles broad financial management like bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statements and normally does not prepare tax returns.

In either role, you will be responsible for managing multiple accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and assisting with regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform account reconciliation tasks, account analysis, month end and year end closing entries, using mainly QuickBooks.
• Assist in tax season with tax return processing and data handling.
• Payroll processing and reporting. Sales tax reporting.
• Learn the other roles in the office to support as back up and overall collaboration.

Skills

• Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation with precision.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP and technical accounting standards.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Adobe, Outlook.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in bookkeeping tasks.

Education and Certifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting or in process of finishing.
• QuickBooks Pro advisor or bookkeeping certifications are a bonus.
• Tax Preparer PTIN is a bonus.
