We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Tax Specialist to join our finance department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the UAE’s evolving tax landscape, specifically regarding Corporate Tax (CT) and Value Added Tax (VAT), ensuring full compliance and optimized tax positioning for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Corporate Tax (CT) Management

  • Oversee the calculation, preparation, and timely filing of UAE Corporate Tax returns in accordance with Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
  • Identify and implement tax-efficient structures and strategies to minimize liabilities while maintaining legal compliance.
  • Monitor permanent establishment risks and manage transfer pricing documentation requirements.

2. VAT Compliance & Reporting

  • Manage the end-to-end VAT process, including the preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly VAT returns.
  • Perform regular reconciliations between VAT accounts and the general ledger.
  • Conduct internal audits of invoices and financial records to ensure correct VAT treatment (Standard Rated, Zero-Rated, and Exempt).

3. Advisory & Strategy

  • Act as the internal subject matter expert on FTA laws, providing guidance to various departments on the tax implications of commercial contracts and transactions.
  • Lead tax planning initiatives for new business ventures, mergers, or acquisitions within the UAE.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities during official audits or inspections.

4. Documentation & Research

  • Maintain comprehensive records and supporting documentation for all tax filings to ensure audit readiness.
  • Stay updated on amendments to UAE tax legislation and international tax standards (BEPS, OECD) affecting local operations.
