Position Summary

GECAC is seeking a Teacher Assistant/Tutor to support the Upward Bound summer program hosted at Mercyhurst University. This role supports classroom instruction and student engagement while contributing to a positive, structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in a classroom setting
• Provide academic support and tutoring to students
• Serve as a chaperone for weekly educational field trips
• Support student engagement and adherence to program expectations

Qualifications

• College Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
• Major in Math, Science, English, or a related field
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8

Required Clearances & Documentation

Prior to hire, candidates must provide:

• PA Act 33, Act 34, and FBI clearances (issued within the past 5 years)
• Proof of education
• Documentation meeting Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements
