Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curricula tailored to diverse learning needs, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills.
- Design engaging lesson plans that promote active participation and foster a love for learning.
- Manage classroom environments effectively, ensuring safety, discipline, and positive behavior management strategies are consistently applied.
- Support early intervention strategies to assist children with special educational needs or developmental delays.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to create individualized education plans (IEPs) for students requiring additional support.
- Incorporate Montessori principles or other educational philosophies to enhance experiential learning opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral incidents while ensuring confidentiality.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, childcare best practices, and curriculum updates.
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes child welfare, emotional well-being, and social skills development.
- Support classroom management through clear rules and consistent routines that encourage independence and respect among students.
- Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and community outreach initiatives to strengthen school-home connections.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; preschool or daycare experience is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience with special education techniques and early intervention programs.
- Familiarity with curriculum development across core subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Ability to manage classrooms effectively using behavior management strategies suited for young learners.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students’ families effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to plan lessons that are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with educational standards.
- Experience working in private schools or Montessori environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and assessment tools for early childhood education.
