Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, music therapy, and recreational therapy.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, visual impairments, or behavioral health challenges.
- Utilize learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with special education teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring personalized support for each student’s goals.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instruction.
- Provide mentorship and academic advising to support students’ social-emotional well-being and academic success.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education, preschool settings, or private schools with a focus on special education or early intervention programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of various ages and developmental stages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Experience designing lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math fundamentals, physical education, music therapy, recreational therapy, and library services.
- Familiarity with teaching physical education activities and integrating learning technology into daily instruction.
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices, behavior management techniques, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and communication skills development.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in inclusive classroom settings is highly valued.
- Strong organizational skills for proofreading educational materials and preparing students for standardized testing environments.
