Teacher for Psychiatric Hospital Setting

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Daytime Hours

Sunarch Academy, located within a psychiatric hospital setting, is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Teacher to join our team. About the Role:
The Teacher will provide academic instruction to children and adolescents receiving inpatient psychiatric care. This role involves small group and individualized teaching, tailored to meet students’ academic and emotional needs. You will work closely with clinical staff and contribute to a multidisciplinary team focused on healing and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies)

• Adapt curriculum to support individual education plans (IEPs)

• Track academic progress and coordinate with students' home districts

• Foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment

• Utilize trauma-informed practices and positive behavior support

Requirements:

• Valid state teaching credential (Special Education or Multi-Subject preferred)

• Experience with at-risk youth or in behavioral health/alternative education settings preferred

• Strong classroom management skills and flexibility

• A patient, empathetic, and team-oriented approach
