Summary Description
Working collaboratively with local school administrators, to assure student success, the elementary team leader manages and facilitates team activities, and serves as a liaison to other teams and service providers such as speech therapists, ESOL teachers, and special education resource personnel. Team leaders, appointed annually by the principal, receive a salary supplement in accordance with the Agreement Between the Montgomery County Education Association and the Board of Education. Physical Demands: As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job. Special Requirements: Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

Knowledge Skills Abilities
Extensive knowledge of elementary school curriculum, and human development considerations including the characteristics and needs of elementary school students. Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills. Working knowledge of data analysis principles, and of technologies used in instruction and program management. Ability to work effectively with principals, teachers, parents, and students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and application of the six performance standards that have been established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS), and the Supporting Services (SEIU) Professional Growth System (SSPGS).
Education Training Experience
Bachelor^s degree from an accredited college or university, with evidence of continuing professional development. Minimum of three years outstanding teaching experience. Experience in team planning, cooperative learning, team teaching, and in a relevant leadership role desirable. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in this position may be considered.Certificate License:Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements.
