Key Largo School - We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing and educating children ages 3 to 5 and a commitment to the goals of the Head Start and Voluntary Pre K programs. The teacher will create a safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes school readiness in all domains of child development.

The essential function of the position within the organization is to perform specialized work in providing and supervising the activities of students to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment. The position is responsible for preparing instructional materials, preparing classrooms for activities, supervising and assisting children in the classroom and in other areas of the school. The position works under direct supervision according to set procedures.
To be successful as a PreK teacher, you should have the patience, compassion, and energy to successfully guide a class of young children, each of whom will have different needs, abilities, aptitudes, and emotions. The best candidate will also have excellent administrative and organizational skills, in order to plan curriculums and create reports on each child's progress.
Head Start/VPK teachers are responsible for providing early childhood education to children three, four and five years of age. If you have child care skills and know safety and first aid techniques, you would be a valuable addition to our team of dedicated preschool teachers. Qualifications:

• Required Education:
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with coursework equivalent to a major in ECE
  

  • ECE coursework may be obtained within two years of hire date
• Preferred Experience:
  
  
  • One year of classroom experience with preschool-aged children, preferably in an early childhood classroom or similar setting
• Other Requirements:
  
  
  • Must pass background checks and health screenings
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Creole or other) a plus, but not required
    
    

Starting Annual Salary:
Provider AA: $39,366
Provider 1: $49,100
Provider 2: $62,700
