Teachers & Group Leaders

For over 133 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn has been a leader in youth development. BGCL seeks an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated professional to oversee and effectively assist in our licensed out of school time program. This is a year-round program based out of our newly renovated state of the art facility located at 25 N Common in Lynn, MA. The Kids Club program serves up to 130 children ages 5-13, has a dynamic and qualified team of Group Leaders, a Site Coordinator, and an EEC Licensed School Aged Director.

Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders work directly under their guidance of the Site Director & Site Coordinator and help him/her carry out his/her responsibilities for our EEC licensed School Age programs.

This includes:

-Planning and implementing areas such as: creative arts, sports, music/movement, gross motor skills, science and nature, and self-esteem.

-Observing children and documenting observations throughout the year.

-Assisting in keeping the program space neat, clean, safe, stimulating, and enjoyable and ensuring materials and activities are age-appropriate and rotated on a regular basis.

-Filling out accident reports and reporting all incidences to the Site Coordinator and/Program Director.

-Attending monthly all-staff meetings and other workshops scheduled for staff.

-Fulfilling the Department of Early Education and Care training requirements for required hours of professional development training annually.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May participate in special programs and/or events.

2. May be required to drive Club van if trained and properly meets regulations

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

- Knowledge of youth development

- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems in a positive way

- Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth

- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
