ABOUT THE POSITION
The Team Lead, Web Developer at Imaginuity is responsible for managing a small team of web developers and leading the design, development, and delivery of innovative web solutions for clients. This role combines hands-on coding expertise with technical leadership, emphasizing modern React-based front-end development and PHP/WordPress back-end engineering. This role will guide projects end-to-end while mentoring the engineering team and ensuring best practices in quality, performance, and scalability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor a small team of web developers through code reviews, technical leadership, and knowledge sharing to elevate overall team performance
- Deliver high-quality, scalable web applications using semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and the React.js ecosystem
- Drive backend development with PHP, leveraging deep WordPress expertise to implement robust, secure, and maintainable solutions
- Architect complex full stack solutions that balance scalability, maintainability, flexibility, scope, and budget to meet client needs
- Ensure all solutions meet or exceed standards for accessibility, SEO, performance, and security compliance
- Lead projects through the full development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture to UX, design, development, and QA
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to solve complex problems and deliver measurable results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 6+ years of full stack development experience with a proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams, conducting peer code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Proven expertise in front-end development with React.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks, with a portfolio of scalable, production-ready applications
- Extensive experience building and customizing WordPress and PHP-based applications, including plugin development, theme integration, and API-driven solutions
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement enterprise-level full stack architectures that optimize performance while aligning with business objectives
- Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility guidelines, SEO best practices, web performance optimization, and secure coding standards
- Hands-on experience managing projects across the full SDLC, with a track record of delivering on-time, within scope, and with high quality outcomes
- Proven success working in cross-disciplinary environments, effectively communicating technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders and driving consensus
