Tech Lead

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to manage day-to-day development and ensure smooth delivery of our short-video platform.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in the JavaScript ecosystem (Node.js / MERN), React Native, and microservices, with exposure to video streaming, event-driven systems, caching, and CI/CD pipelines.

This role is perfect for someone who can lead medium size teams, enforce coding standards, and actively participate in technical execution, rather than just managing projects.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Delivery

Manage and mentor backend, web, and mobile teams (React Native / Node.js / MERN).

Ensure alignment with architecture guidelines set by the Senior Tech Lead.

Act as the primary point of contact for technical blockers and inter-team dependencies.

Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in coding, testing, and documentation.

Technical Execution

Own the development lifecycle, including agile planning, sprint execution, and timely delivery.

Manage CI/CD pipelines, branching strategies, and release workflows.

Ensure seamless integration across mobile apps, web clients, backend APIs, CDN, and infrastructure components.

Manage technical debt and drive continuous improvements in code quality and testing.

Work hands-on with queues (RabbitMQ), caching (Redis), and event-driven pipelines.

Short Video Platform Focus

Collaborate on video ingestion, transcoding, and delivery pipelines.

Implement and maintain adaptive bitrate streaming (HLS/DASH) pipelines.

Optimize backend services for low-latency video feeds and smooth playback.

Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve service reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

8–9 years of software development experience, with at least 2–3 years in a team lead/technical lead role.

Strong hands-on experience in Node.js, MongoDB, React/React Native, and microservices.

Practical knowledge of Redis, RabbitMQ, AWS (S3, CloudFront, MediaConvert).

Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and agile workflows.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentoring skills.
