Technical and Desktop Support Specialist

Job Type:

• Part-time hourly (15-20 hours/week)

Shift and schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Options for shift start time and end time.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Candidate should have familiarity with the following productivity solutions: Windows 11, Email, Intune, Defender (EDR), Nextiva, ZOOM, Needles Neos, WordPress, and Adobe Acrobat Pro, and be familiar with small office printers and scanners.
• Candidate should have knowledge of wired and wireless LAN, including wiring capability.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds individually, and the ability to crawl under a desk in order to service computers
• Must have high degree of professionalism when interacting with internal and external clients

Job description

Slaughter & Lupton Law, PLLC, is a regional personal injury and wrongful death law firm. The firm is currently seeking a part-time Technical and Desktop Support Specialist to provide support at our Virginia Beach, VA Office. This position will provide an initial level of support for a variety of legal staff and attorneys working directly under the supervision of the Director IT/Security and the firm administrator.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with other support teams (IT/Security, MS Office) teams to effectively resolve technical issues
• Provide initial response to user issues
• Set up hardware, printers, telephones and peripherals to ensure seamless operation
• Assist with audio-visual setups as requested
• Provide telephone support to internal clients, troubleshooting a variety of software, hardware and network issues until resolution or escalation
• Assist with familiarizing employees with the firm’s computer systems, software, and phone system
• Minor periodic edits to the firm’s website in WordPress.
