Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Technical Business Development Manager specializing in Smart Waste and Compactor Monitoring solutions. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to promote smart waste monitoring systems and compactors.
- Identify and engage potential clients across municipal, commercial, and industrial sectors through targeted outreach and networking.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders by understanding their waste management needs and presenting tailored technological solutions.
- Lead product demonstrations, technical presentations, and negotiations to secure new contracts and expand existing accounts.
- Collaborate closely with marketing teams to create compelling campaigns that highlight the benefits of smart waste monitoring solutions.
- Manage sales pipelines using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software such as Salesforce to track prospects, activities, and outcomes.
- Coordinate project management efforts to ensure seamless implementation of solutions, including planning, execution, and post-sales support.
Experience
- Proven success in business development or sales within technology or environmental sectors, preferably with a focus on smart infrastructure or waste management systems.
- Strong understanding of CRM software platforms like Salesforce or similar tools for managing customer relationships and sales processes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans that align with corporate growth objectives.
- Excellent negotiation skills coupled with experience in closing complex deals involving multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management principles to oversee solution deployment from inception to completion.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to B2B technology solutions is a plus.
- Prior experience working with technical products related to sensors, IoT (Internet of Things), or monitoring systems will be advantageous. Responsibilities
Sales & Partnerships
- Identify and close pilot projects with waste haulers, property managers, and municipalities
- Build partnerships with compactor service companies & waste operators
- Develop reseller & service integration channels
Operational Solution Selling
- Diagnose customer pain points: downtime, jams, misuse, fire risk, service delays
- Quantify ROI from avoided service calls and overflow incidents
- Translate operational insights into measurable savings
Pilot → Scale Execution
- Launch and manage pilot deployments
- Collect performance data & build case studies
- Convert pilots into multi-site rollouts
Market Development
- Build relationships with smart city & sustainability programs
- Represent Capte at industry events and trade shows
Required Experience✔ 5+ years B2B sales in one of:
- waste management / recycling
- facility services
- industrial IoT / smart infrastructure
- municipal solutions
✔ Experience selling into:
- waste hauling companies
- municipalities / public works
- large property management portfolios
- airports, hospitals, universities
✔ Proven success converting pilots into contracts✔ Comfortable with hardware deployments & field operations
