Skillcraft Machine Tool Company manufactures the highest quality aerospace support equipment, prototype components, and complex assemblies. We specialize in producing small to medium-sized lots of components and assemblies in a variety of materials for a wide range of customers.

Job Summary: Skillcraft Machine Tool Company, Inc., is currently seeking a Technical Buyer to join our manufacturing team and help achieve our company’s objectives in a dynamic, action-oriented, continuous improvement atmosphere. This is a salary position with a competitive wage based on experience.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Hourly Rate: $25-$28

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret engineering drawings to identify required manufacturing processes and select appropriate suppliers based on capabilities, lead time, and quality requirements.
• Prepare and transmit all documentation for RFQs; negotiate pricing and award purchase orders.
• Manage supplier relationships, acting as a liaison to ensure on-time delivery and resolving issues impacting company or customer objectives.
• Monitor and update order status, prioritizing and expediting critical items as needed.
• Maintain visual management tools, metrics, and documentation to support purchasing and production activities.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering prints and Bills of Material (B.O.M.); experienced in B.O.M. creation, maintenance, and transaction processing.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions.
• Skilled in data analysis, negotiation, vendor management, and cross-department collaboration (Engineering, Estimating, Production).
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills; able to work professionally with all organizational levels.
• Highly adaptable, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to sit, stand, bend, squat, and move throughout the facility as required.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
