Position Title
Technical Coordinator

Job Description
The Technical Coordinator works independently with minimal supervision and requires expertise in utilizing and maintaining various technical tools, equipment, and systems.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
  • Coordinates and oversees the daily operational building function. Coordinates and moves furniture, furnishings, and equipment, submits work orders for repairs, oversees key control/building access, and orders equipment and furniture.
  • Coordinates renovation and construction projects with appropriate university personnel and contractors.
  • Coordinates with the business office on procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Oversees procurement of laboratory equipment and supplies, chemical storage, safety labeling and inventory control. Maintains inventory supplies and records.
  • Manages shipping and receiving for the college
  • Serves as the departmental Safety Officer and records observations in this role.
  • Ensures proper storage, handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
  • Oversee incoming/outgoing shipments including hazardous substances.
  • Vehicle database, keys, drivers, insurance, tags
  • Maintains department vehicle and trailer reservation records.
  • Supervises student employees
  • Oversees the maintenance of laboratory facilities, equipment and instrumentation and arranges for repairs. Evaluates existing laboratory facilities and recommends improvements.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.



Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Equivalent Education/Experience:
  • Must have 1-3 years of experience in an engineering related technician position
  • Vocational training in any of the following areas (or combination of areas) electronics repair, welding, lab technician, lathe and mill operation, mechanical training required.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability:
  • Knowledge, experience, and the ability to provide guidance and training to students and other personnel in Labview.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
  • A collaborative team player, who can coordinate work effectively with employees, team members, and outside vendors.

Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in MS Office applications

Physical Demands
Work requires the ability to walk and climb stairs unassisted move and carry heavy objects.
