Technical Designer

Focus: Create detailed technical and shop drawings for kitchens, closets, vanities, to be used for fabrication and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert design concepts and measurements into accurate technical drawings using CAD or specialized cabinet design software.
• Prepare “as-built” and “shop” drawings for fabrication, ensuring precision in sizing, clearances, and material specifications.
• Coordinate directly with the sales and production teams to verify feasibility and details.
• Maintain standard cabinet models and component libraries for faster design turnaround.
• Integrate appliance specs and hardware selections (Häfele, Blum, etc.) into layouts.
• Review and redline incoming designer drawings to ensure accuracy before release to production.
• Assist in maintaining technical documentation standards and version control.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in technical drafting for cabinetry, millwork, or interior design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Cabinet Vision (or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, hardware, and material properties.
• Ability to read architectural plans.
• Meticulous attention to measurement accuracy and production detail.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Bonus: Familiarity with European-style cabinetry systems (frameless, metric/imperial conversions).

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
