Technical Designer – Hunting, Fishing, and Lifestyle Apparel

Position Description: We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our production and design team. The ideal candidate will bring expert-level fit knowledge and understand the brand aesthetic from concept through final approval. This is a full-time in-person position at our corporate office in Argyle, Texas.

This role reports to the Director of Apparel and Accessory Design.

The Technical Designer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fit, style, and construction expert who understands the brand and product history
  • Utilize Alvanon fit forms to establish and maintain consistent fit standards across categories
  • Lead block development and maintenance for key silhouettes to ensure consistency and scalability across seasons
  • Support with the creation of tech packs for development, including style information, graded specs, and how to measure page
  • Lead and manage all fittings from initial prototype to SMS, and communicate with the overseas factory’s technical design team
  • Update tech packs with fit notes, photos, and SMS requests
  • Track and prepare samples for fittings, and measure samples pre-fitting to see how they compare to the graded spec in the tech pack
  • Review and provide feedback on fabrics, trims, and samples - ensuring designs are executed accurately and elevate company standards
  • Maintain and adhere to the time and action calendar
  • Attend cross-functional meetings and communicate/problem-solve product development issues
  • Must be highly organized and able to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performing environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Apparel or fashion design degree with a focus on Menswear (experience with graphic design a plus)
  • 8+ years of industry experience in the apparel industry
  • Range of knowledge in men’s shirts, fashion knits, and outerwear
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite programs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Physical Demands

While performing this job, the employee must be able to talk and hear regularly. Extended periods of sitting and computer use are required. The employee may occasionally stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity sufficient to view detailed computer and garment work is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
