Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Technical Head – Architecture Design (Shop Drawing) to lead the technical and design oversight for our portfolio of high-rise residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects in the UAE. The successful candidate will drive design excellence, ensure compliance with local and international standards, manage multidisciplinary coordination, and provide strategic technical leadership from concept to handover. This role demands deep expertise in architectural projects, value engineering, QA/QC, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical review and audit of architectural submissions, drawings, tender documents, and design packages from internal teams and external consultants.
• Coordinate seamlessly with Structural, MEP, Interior Design, Landscape, and contracting teams to resolve technical issues, RFIs, and site challenges.
• Oversee value engineering initiatives to optimize design, cost-efficiency, and constructability without compromising quality or aesthetics.
• Ensure full compliance with UAE authorities (Dubai Municipality, etc.), building codes, international standards, and client-specific design guidelines.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing programs for design and project teams.
• Manage outsourced design development, including remote teams, Revit/BIM workflows, programming, and QA/QC across all project stages.
• Facilitate effective communication among clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Supervise site progress monitoring, risk foresight, and resolution of design-related issues during construction.
• Contribute to project briefs, consultant appointments, tender documentation, and strategic innovation in architectural solutions.
• Monitor and enhance design quality standards, incorporating sustainability and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred) from a recognized institution.
• 20–35 years of progressive experience in architectural design and technical management, with significant exposure to UAE/GCC projects (high-rise towers, luxury villas, mixed-use developments).
• Proven track record in leading technical departments or design review teams for prestigious projects (e.g., high-rises over 40 storeys, value AED/SAR 1B+).
• Strong expertise in AutoCAD (Advanced), BIM/Revit (Basic to Intermediate), and design coordination tools.
• Excellent knowledge of UAE building regulations, code compliance, value engineering, and multidisciplinary integration (MEP, Structural, Landscape).
• Demonstrated skills in team leadership, client coordination, resource planning, and risk management.
• Exceptional communication skills in English; additional languages
• Valid UAE driving license and residency visa.
