Technical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Technical Engineer – Fire Proofing to manage and supervise passive fire protection works on site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs related to fire proofing works.
• Prepare method statements, material submittals, technical datasheets, and shop drawings.
• Ensure fire proofing materials and systems comply with approved standards (UL, ASTM, BS, EN, Civil Defense requirements, etc.).
• Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and suppliers on technical matters.
• Provide technical support during inspections, mock-ups, and testing.
• Supervise fire proofing application (intumescent coating, cementitious spray, boards, fire seals, etc.).
• Ensure works are executed as per approved method statements and safety procedures.
• Monitor surface preparation, application thickness, curing, and finishing.
• Identify and resolve site technical issues promptly.
• Conduct inspections and ensure quality of workmanship meets project and authority requirements.
• Maintain inspection records, daily reports, and quality checklists.
• Coordinate third-party inspections and Civil Defense approvals.
• Ensure corrective actions are implemented for non-conformances.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements during fire proofing operations.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure safe handling of materials and equipment.
• Coordinate with project teams to align fire proofing activities with construction schedules.
• Assist in material planning, manpower allocation, and progress tracking.
• Support project close-out activities, including as-built drawings and handover documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Fire Engineering.
• Minimum 0–2 years experience in fire proofing or passive fire protection works.
• Strong knowledge of fire proofing systems and industry standards.
• Experience with Civil Defense inspections and approvals (preferred).
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and coordination abilities
• Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic reporting tools

Experience in UAE/GCC projects is an advantage.
