Technical Engineer cum Quantity Surveyor

Asfy Decoration EST, a leading company specialized in gypsum ceiling and partition works, especially GRG and Gypsum board works is urgently looking for a dedicated Technical Engineer cum QS who has great knowledge and can manage both technical and commercial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities

• Review & Interpretation of Drawings and Specifications:
• Understand architectural and project specifications.
• Identify discrepancies and raise RFIs if needed.
• Preparation of Shop Drawings and As-Built Drawings:
• Coordinate with draftsmen for timely submission.
• Ensure alignment with project specs and site conditions.
• Preparation of shop drawing
• Technical Submittals & Approvals:
• Assist in preparing method statements and material submittals.
• Coordinate with suppliers for compliance and documentation.
• Ensure all materials are approved before procurement and installation.
• Site Coordination & Supervision Support:
• Support site teams in resolving technical issues.
• Conduct site visits to ensure correct implementation.
• Coordinate with other trades to avoid conflicts.
• Compliance & Quality Monitoring:
• Ensure works are executed per approved drawings/specifications.
• Coordinate inspections and assist QA/QC in closures and WIRs.

Commercial Responsibilities

• Estimations & Costing:
• Prepare accurate material and labor take-offs based on drawings.
• Price BOQs for tendering and variations.
• Procurement Support:
• Coordinate with suppliers for material quotations.
• Ensure procurement aligns with project budget and delivery timelines.
• Variation & Claim Preparation:
• Identify and document scope changes.
• Prepare variation submissions with supporting documents (drawings, site photos, approvals).
• Monthly Billing & Payment Applications:
• Prepare and submit interim payment applications.
• Coordinate with main contractor QS to certify works.
• Cost Control & Reporting:
• Monitor actual vs. budgeted costs.
• Track wastage and suggest cost-saving measures.
