Technical / Estimation Manager

Position Overview

The Technical/Estimation Manager is responsible for leading the estimation and

technical functions of the company, ensuring accurate cost estimation, technical

evaluation, and project proposals. The role involves coordinating with clients,

consultants, suppliers, and internal teams to prepare competitive bids, oversee project

technical requirements, and support operational teams throughout project execution.

1. Key Responsibilities

A. Estimation & Costing

 Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost

estimates.

 Analyze project scope, identify cost impacts, and prepare BOQs and cost

breakdowns.

 Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

 Prepare technical and commercial proposals within deadlines.

 Ensure estimates are aligned with company costing standards and market rates.

B. Technical Responsibilities

 Evaluate project technical requirements and ensure compliance with industry

standards.

 Provide technical support to clients and project teams during pre- and post-

tender stages.

 Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method

statements.

 Coordinate with Production and Project teams for feasibility and technical

clarifications.

C. Project Coordination

 Support Project Engineers and Production teams during project execution.

 Participate in project planning and review meetings.

 Provide cost-to-complete analysis and technical input when needed.

 Assist in value engineering to optimize project costs and performance.

D. Team & Process Management

 Lead and mentor the estimation and technical team.

 Implement standard procedures for estimation accuracy and technical quality.

 Ensure documentation and records are maintained systematically.

 Work closely with Operations, Procurement, and Production departments.

2. Qualifications & Experience

 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or related field).

 Minimum 15–20 years experience in Estimation and Technical roles, preferably

in joinery, fit-out, fabrication or construction industry.

 Strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

 Knowledge of UAE market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors is an advantage.

3. Skills & Competencies

 Excellent analytical and cost-estimation skills.

 Strong technical and engineering knowledge.

 Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and estimation software.

 Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

 Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

 Leadership and team management skills.
