Technical Fabrication Designer – Metal Fabrication (On-Site Only)

About Us:

We are a growing local metal fabrication company that designs, fabricates, welds, and installs custom metalwork. We are seeking a Technical Fabrication Designer/Drafter to join our in-house team and support our fast-paced fabrication shop. This is not a remote position.

As a Technical Fabrication Designer/Drafter, you’ll work closely with project managers, shop staff, and clients to turn concepts and sketches into precise SolidWorks drawings for manufacturing and installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create accurate SolidWorks drawings from sketches, site visits, and verbal input
• Collaborate with project managers, consultants, and customers to revise and finalize drawings
• Develop and organize shop drawings for fabrication and on-site assembly
• Print and distribute drawing packages to internal teams and job sites
• Maintain drawing folders and server organization; manage project updates and revisions
• Ensure drawings meet company and project standards before release
• Seek clarity when needed from engineers and team members to avoid design errors

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience as a SolidWorks Designer/Drafter
• Experience in construction and/or manufacturing (5+ years preferred)
• Strong understanding of fabrication drawing standards and technical details
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

• SolidWorks: 2 years (Required)
• Manufacturing or Construction: 5 years (Preferred)
