Job Title: Instructional Designer

Department: CO+I Learning Organization

Location: 100% remote - PST time zone preferred

Rate: $50-$51/ hour

Duration: 12 months expected, current end date 2/27/26

The Instructional Designer plays a pivotal role in developing high-quality, learner-centered training experiences data center technicians and other operational roles. This position supports the CO+I Learning organization’s mission to deliver innovative, scalable, and effective learning solutions that empower employees and maintain operational excellence. The role involves close collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), curriculum managers, and cross-functional teams to design and deliver impactful e-learning content aligned with strategic business goals.

Typical Day in the Role

  • Morning: Review project timelines, attend SME meetings, and begin development on assigned training modules.
  • Midday: Collaborate with team members in design reviews, update course content, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Afternoon: Finalize deliverables, analyze learner feedback, and prepare for upcoming stakeholder presentations.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain e-learning courses and microlearning modules using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Create interactive content including videos, quizzes, simulations, and animations.
  • Develop supporting materials such as slides, handouts, lab instructions, and solutions.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with SMEs and external trainers to incorporate technical expertise into training programs.
  • Participate in team meetings and project reviews to ensure alignment with learning objectives.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery without compromising quality.
  • Track and report on project milestones and learner engagement metrics.

Quality Assurance & Innovation:

  • Ensure all learning solutions meet instructional design standards, accessibility guidelines, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Integrate emerging technologies such as generative AI and 3D modeling into learning experiences.

Performance Evaluation:

  • Monitor course completion rates, assessment scores, and learner feedback.
  • Continuously improve training effectiveness based on analytics and performance indicators.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, including needs assessment, learner, context, and task analyses.
  • 3+ years of experience using Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Adobe PremierPro, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to develop performance-based learning programs for diverse audiences.
  • Strong technical writing and editing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service orientation.
  • Portfolio of work samples showcasing training programs across various fields and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with AI-enabled learning solutions and 3D modeling.
  • Familiarity with branching logic in Articulate Storyline.
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and accessibility standards.
  • Experience with multimedia and interactive elements, including video editing and animation.
  • Exposure to technologies such as database design, networking, and client-server applications.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $49.00 - $51.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
