Technical Lead – Microsoft & Oracle SAM Data Collection
The Technical Lead – Microsoft & Oracle SAM Data Collection will be responsible for leading the technical execution of data collection activities across client entities as part of a Software Asset Management compliance project.
The role requires a hands-on infrastructure specialist who can execute Microsoft and Oracle data collection scripts, validate technical prerequisites, troubleshoot access and connectivity issues, coordinate with entity IT/security teams, collect on-premise and cloud-based reports, validate outputs, and ensure complete, accurate, and analysis-ready data is handed over to the SAM licensing team.
Key Technical Responsibilities
- Validate technical readiness before each entity visit, including administrator access, required ports, shared folders, script paths, output locations, and security approvals.
- Execute Microsoft and Oracle data collection scripts across in-scope endpoints, servers, databases, virtual machines, and infrastructure environments.
- Collect Microsoft data from on-premise and cloud sources, including Active Directory, SCCM/ManageEngine, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Azure, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and related licensing reports.
- Collect Oracle data from database servers, Oracle instances, middleware/WebLogic environments, CPU/server inventory, listener details, and Oracle collection tool outputs.
- Coordinate antivirus and endpoint security whitelisting to ensure approved scripts, folders, execution tools, and output directories are not blocked during data collection.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to permissions, WMI, SMB, RPC, DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, Oracle listener ports, firewall restrictions, antivirus blocking, and failed script execution.
- Collect virtualization hierarchy data from VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, or other platforms, including host, cluster, VM, and workload mapping required for license analysis.
- Validate data completeness and accuracy by reconciling script outputs against Active Directory, endpoint management tools, server inventories, cloud reports, DBA inputs, and virtualization exports.
- Document execution status, issues, gaps, and completion evidence for each entity and maintain structured data collection logs and trackers.
- Coordinate with entity IT, database, network, security, and cloud teams to resolve blockers and ensure complete, analysis-ready data is handed over to the SAM licensing team.
