Technical Manager, General Insurance
Role Purpose:
The Technical Manager is responsible for managing and growing the profitable growth of General Lines portfolio by managing New business, renewal retention and entire client relationship.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Perform the broking role for new business and existing portfolio of clients.

Manage entire client relationship including broking and servicing of all their general insurance policies.

Execution of strategy for new business development and working closely with sales team to convert opportunities.

Build and maintain relationships with the client with a good understanding of each client’s business and culture.

Assist the Head of General lines & Operations in supervising, motivating and developing the team to optimize performance.

Oversees and fronts major business presentations to produce and broker new business (and will input to, and front meetings & presentations to existing clients in the review of their renewals, midterm adjustments).

Provides technical support to colleagues and help in resolving their client problems.

Formulates innovative and profitable insurance structures and marketing strategies appropriate for the portfolio of clients.

Work closely with Regional and London teams on specialty lines of business.

Attend external events to positively represent the company & increase own understanding of client priorities, changing needs and market trends.

Aligns & works very closely with Operations, EB & General Lines Leader to implement the broking practices, placement strategy & operational policies of the company. Is accountable for operational delivery and to ensure it meets all reporting/compliance/regulatory requirements and ensures appropriate monitoring processes are in place to identify breaches or non-compliance with remedial actions identified to mitigate risk.

Coaching and developing the General lines team on broking, placement and client servicing

Prepare proposals, presentations, and other materials for clients and prospects in respect to renewal and new business opportunities.

Do policy gap analysis and advice the right coverage and missing polices to clients / prospects.

Initiate/ manage the renewal process for clients, including preparing proposals and coordinating with insurers.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date trackers on placement data.

Processing the policy placements and verifying the documents received from client, completing the placement with the Insurer.

Reviewing and processing invoice bookings (with the insurer and client) along with KYC requirement and internal bookings

Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory/ compliance requirements.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance or a related field.

Minimum 8-10 years of insurance experience, handling SME and Corporate accounts.

Professional insurance qualification (e.g. ACII, CII, or an equivalent qualification) is preferred.

Strong understanding and technical knowledge of general insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.

Verbal and written communication skills.

Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure.
