Job Description:

Mapa is seeking a civil engineer with excellent English skills who can handle subcontract agreements and progress payment tracking, with a background in technical office engineering. The ideal candidate should have minimum 10 years of experience in technical office roles on infrastructure projects.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering,
  • A master's degree in construction management, project management, or similar fields is a plus,
  • Proficient in MS Office, Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD and M-Files software,
  • Highly organized with strong communication skills,
  • Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is a plus,
  • Having at least 10 years of total technical office engineering experience in large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects and having completed at least 5 years of this experience in the field of project control at a senior level.
  • Having a very good command of English,
  • Experience working in Gulf countries,
  • Effective communication and leadership skills,
  • Compatible with flexible working hours in a busy work schedule,
  • Excellent coordination, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Have experience in project cost control principles, WBS/CBS development and Earned Value Management (EVM).


Key Responsibilities:


  • Create detailed and leveled work programs based on the main program (Baseline Schedule).
  • Be able to perform critical path analysis and to establish progress measurement systems (PMS).
  • Carry out detailed cost estimation, budgeting and cash flow planning during the project.
  • Constantly compare actual costs with the budget and perform deviation analysis.
  • Evaluate the financial and commercial terms of the articles of association and sub-contracts, to follow up the progress payouts.
  • Analyzing change requests (variation orders) and time extension requests (time extension claims).
  • Ensure the planning and budgeting of subcontractor work packages.
  • Take an active role in the technical and commercial evaluation of subcontractor offers, to verify payment certificates and to monitor performance.
  • Systematically identifying project risks, analyzing them and collaborating with the project management team to take mitigating measures.
