Role Overview

This is a pure hunter sales role focused on driving new revenue and winning new customers. The Business Development Manager will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and lead generation through negotiation and deal closure—targeting customers in the solar, energy storage, and power systems market.

This role is for a closer, not an account maintainer. You will be expected to consistently open new doors, build a strong pipeline, and convert opportunities into signed contracts for complex, technical energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aggressively prospect and develop new business opportunities across solar, energy storage, and power infrastructure markets
  • Own and exceed an individual sales quota with full responsibility for revenue generation
  • Build and manage a high-velocity sales pipeline through cold outreach, networking, and industry presence
  • Sell complex, high-value technical solutions that include:
  • SCADA and power plant controls for monitoring Utility and C&I PV
  • Energy Management Systems (EMS) for Utility and C&I Energy Storage systemes
  • Switchgear and electrical balance of plant
  • Power plant control systems
  • Identify decision-makers and influencers within EPCs, developers, utilities, and C&I customers
  • Lead discovery meetings, technical-commercial presentations, and proposal development
  • Drive negotiations, overcome objections, and close deals with minimal oversight
  • Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to develop competitive, technically sound offers
  • Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, forecasting, and CRM discipline
  • Stay ahead of competitors by understanding market pricing, customer buying behavior, and emerging technologies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of hunter-style sales experience in the energy or power sector
  • Proven track record of closing new-logo, high-value B2B deals
  • Hands-on experience selling one or more of the following:
  • Solar PV
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • SCADA
  • EMS
  • Switchgear
  • Power plant control systems
  • Strong understanding of power systems, grid interconnection, and control architectures
  • Comfortable selling into EPCs, developers, utilities, IPPs, and large industrial customers
  • Willingness to travel extensively to close deals

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
